Locations

Heavenly Hills is a town, that in it's design, has been intended to expand to fit the needs of it's ever growing population. You will note that though there are a number of façades throughout the town that look inviting, the doors have been barred to prevent access by the public. Should you happen to be savvy enough to get past the locks that have been put in place, you will find little more than an empty building and the locks will be back in place the next day.

Flush with park benches, rolling green grass and winding pathways that are punctuated by seasonal trees and flower beds, the Heavenly Hills Town Square is not only a beautiful place for residents to relax, but also the location for many of the events put together by The Board. Don't be surprised if you should wake up one morning and discover that the centre of town has been transformed into something wonderful and unexpected. There is a gazebo in the middle and a notice board that announces upcoming community events. It's advised that residents check the notice board daily if they wish to be warned notified of coming attractions.

A quaint strip of stores, many of the doors here have been chained up to keep unsavory characters out. As the town begins to thrive, The Board will open up new businesses to best meet the town's needs. Until then however, even if you do manage to get past the chains, you will discover little more than an empty building, and when you return to the location the next day, it will be as if you have never been there.

The Mattress Store

The name really does say it all. The mattress store contains beds and a variety of bedroom furniture. It serves mainly as a location where new arrivals might find themselves when the Motel is fully booked.

The Diner

The only place in Heavenly Hills outside your homes where you can actually get something to eat. The kitchen out the back is fully stocked and of course, what would a diner be without a Soda Fountain and a Jukebox that plays the best of the music of the era. The Diner also happens to be one of the few places in town where newcomers are welcome to come and work. Just, don't expect to be paid. See it as an opportunity to help your community and be a real part of the town.

The Supermarket

At first glance this looks like a typical, albeit rather dated supermarket, but upon closer inspection, you will realize that all is not what it seems. Those lovely racks of fruit? They're plastic. The cartons of cereal? They're filled with sawdust. In fact, as it stands right now, there is absolutely nothing in this store that is what it claims to be. It appears to be little more than a set for a movie. How long this will remain a rather useless despite it's looking pretty interior, time can only tell. Perhaps as the town grows and begins to thrive once more, The Board may actually consider stocking the shelves. Until then? Well at least you can eat at The Diner.

The Clothes Store

Filled with the very best of fashions from yes, you guessed it, the 1950's, the Clothes Store carries both clothing of various sizes for men and women in a variety of styles for the era. New items are brought in monthly and will always reflect the seasons. You can find everything from formal-wear to casual to nightclothes.

The Cemetery

A rather idyllic little piece of Heavenly Hills with well kept gravestones and shady trees. It all looks very pleasant, but the one daunting element may in fact be the names on the gravestones. All new inhabitants will be able to walk through the Cemetery and find their own name inscribed in stone, marking their presence in Heavenly Hills. Some of you may even find your own gravestone sooner rather than later, the Cemetery being on of the few places that will on occasion bring new people into the town. Be careful wandering around at the beginning of the month. There tends to be freshly dug graves to welcome the newcomers.

The Clinic

A fully equipped Doctors Office, complete with examination table and a scale that looks like it weighs as much as a baby elephant. There are two offices for Doctors on duty, a lovely reception area with waiting room with charts and posters that give rather outdated medical advice. As if to punctuate the misinformed views of the day, a cigarette machine (fully stocked) can be found in the waiting area by the door, so you can visit your doctor, and buy a pack for the way home...

The Town Hall

An impressive building in both size and architecture, The Heavenly Hills Town Hall is a spacious collection of offices that all surround a communal hall that is perfect for town meetings and the like. Fully furnished, there are even desks and typewriters so that nobody will be expected to actually write up their own letters. (Yes we know. Blame the era). Complete with folding chairs that have been stacked away, tea and coffee facilities and various other amenities, the Town Hall contains everything anyone could hope for. Except actual information about the town itself and what everyone is doing here... There are however transcripts of all communications that have occurred on the network in a filing room that can be found in the basement and the records are amended at the end of each day to reflect any new transmissions.

The Library

Though it certainly looks very impressive from the outside and does seem to contain stacks upon stacks of books, upon closer inspection, residents of Heavenly Hills will discover that the tomes within are in little more than decoration. Every page of every book is completely blank. There is however a lovely little reading area and it does provide a quiet place for a person to think.

The Police Station

Left unmanned, the police station is a small building that can be found as you move into the first sector. Boasting three very roomy holding cells, residents who are deemed to be repeatedly making a nuisance of themselves, may wake up one morning inside one of the cells. Sentences will depend on the severity of the crimes and prisoners should hope that they managed to make at least a few friends during their stay, otherwise they might be forced to starve, as meals are provided by the townsfolk. There are a number of rather useless yet official looking forms, several typewriters and small kitchenette that can be found in the back by what appears to be a Sheriffs Office. It should be noted that though handcuffs, keys and batons can be found in the equipment room, there are no projectile weapons (guns) kept on site. We wouldn't want anyone to accidentally shoot you now would we?

The Motel

With twelve lovely rooms, at least for their time, the Haven Motel is a small well kept motel located in Heavenly Hills second sector. It can be used for a night when you need to get away but is closed to the public for one week every month when the rooms are reserved for new arrivals. A working coke machine can be found in the lobby and The Concierge will answer any questions you may have. Unless of course you want to know anything about why you're really here. Then he will be perfectly unhelpful. Each room comes equipped with a double bed, a chair, a reading lamp, bedside table and a black and white television. An ironing board and iron can be found in the closet. Tea and Coffee is served in the Lobby between 7am and 10am every morning.

The Bar

Ah the smell of stale cigarettes and whiskey fills the air while you sit in air-conditioned comfort in the only place in all of Heavenly Hills that actually serves alcohol. The bar is another place where new residents may consider working but guests should keep in mind, seeing as they aren't getting paid to be here, they don't have to put up with your crap.

All roads that lead into sector 3 have currently been blocked off. There is a large sign that reads "Closed To The Public" and should residents attempt to explore, they will find themselves overcome with the need to turn back. No amount of willpower will be able to make them continue. They can push as much as they can but nerves will soon turn into crippling fear and no matter how hard you try to ignore it, you will run screaming from this area if you try and stay too long.

The Suburbs

Welcome to Suburbia, Heavenly Hills style. Rows upon rows of manicured lawns and beautifully kept gardens. Every home in suburbia has a big yard out the back and a white picket fence out the front. Despite having slightly different layouts, every home boasts three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and comes fully furnished in the style of the era.

You will find that the bathrooms are stocked with all your sanitary needs. The cupboards and fridge contain enough food to fit the needs of a small family and will be restocked once a week so try not to go overboard now. If you run out, you might have to call on your neighbors for a cup of sugar.

The master bedroom has two walk in wardrobes with men's clothes in one and women's in the other. The other two rooms... well, we hope you don't mind sleeping in a child's bed. These homes were built with the nuclear family in mind. The master bedroom for the parents, and a bedroom for a girl and one for a boy.

Provided you don't try to do any serious remodelling (knock down a wall with a sledgehammer) the homes in suburbia will not revert back to their original state. Go ahead and rearrange the furniture, swap out the princess bed for one that actually fits a fully grown adult, provided you can actually carry a bed all the way from the mattress store to your home...

Should disaster strike however, the house will effectively undergo a reset and all changes made will be erased, so be careful what you do, and who you let in. The Board will not condone vandalism of any kind and the best way to make sure it doesn't spread, is to make it like it never happened.
